“Erik Bogaerts Kwartet” is a playful jazz quartet founded by alto saxophonist Erik Bogaerts (Mephiti, Les Chroniques De L’inutile). Together with tenor saxophonist Jeroen van Herzeele, bassist Brice Soniano and drummer Steven Cassiers they play music that searches the balance between serene melodies within harmonic structures and energetic expression in groove and improvisation. Interplay between the members is key and the pursuance of a joyous night for players and listeners is their guiding principle.

Saxophonist Erik Bogaerts, guitarist Benjamin Sauzereau and drummer Jens Bouttery form the band 'Llop'. This Belgian based trio plays mostly improvised song-like and ambient music. Jens Bouttery plays drums and manipulates sounds by recording the band live, treating those sounds in real time, looking for unheard textures, unpredictability. and for a challenging ground for improvisation.. The album 'Lampke' (el NEGOCITO Records 2015) was the start of a musical process.

Shortly after releasing their first Album, Llop was invited by ‘ARNA’, a Swedish organization that invites artists from all over the world to work on their specific art and to meet the local people in Harlösa. The trio invited Brice Soniano to join them, worked and recorded "in residence" for one week in an ancient church in Harlösa. ‘J,Imp’ is the result of those intense days of recording.

Les Chroniques De L'Inutile

(ENG)

Les Chroniques de l’Inutile, playing compositions by its guitar player Benjamin Sauzereau, explores the border between written music and the freedom of improvisation.’Virgule’ is the result of Les Chroniques de l’Inutile growing as a septet. This new set of pieces, very “song-like”, wild in some moments, surprisingly gentle and peaceful in some others, celebrates the present moment and reminds the importance of punctuation.

(FR)
